Gulkand Fool
Easy on the eye, easy on the skin; like pink rose petals thanks to the alizarin weft.
Gulkand is a preserve of rose petals and the main ingredient of a sweet paan. In order to make a sweet paan you need, amongst a host of ingredients, a betal leave or two, a number of spices and seeds, a teaspoon or tablespoon of gulkand and in my case a spoonful of desiccated coconut. You fold it up nicely to make a little parcel, pop it in the fridge for a few hours and there you have it.... the ultimate sweet and succulent snack/digestive.
